The Opse approach
The decisions that shape your next thirty years are made quietly and early: choosing the right investigations before disease appears, reading borderline results in context, and holding a plan together as life moves around it. That is skilled clinical work, and it is what Opse is built to do.
We map your risk, decide with you what is worth testing and why, read the results as one picture, and stay accountable for the follow-through: one doctor, carrying the plan forward year after year.
The expertise is in the judgement: knowing which tests are worth doing, what the results mean, and what to do next.

The standard we hold
Longevity medicine works when every decision is medical, weighed on the evidence, and owned by one doctor who stays with you.
Every decision is medical — made with you, with the reasoning and trade-offs explained in full, so you understand why each step is on the plan.
Evidence over novelty — more testing when it changes a decision, less when it adds noise — each investigation earns its place.
Followed up over years — structured reviews, a defined retesting schedule and real follow-through keep the plan working as life moves.
Time to do it properly — consultations include discussion of results, next steps and follow-up.
Is Opse right for you?
The application helps us assess whether Opse suits your needs. We are direct about who Opse suits, and who is better served elsewhere.
Fully private. Your information is used for your care and its administration, as set out in our Privacy Policy, and disclosed only with consent or as the law permits.
Testing is staged, results are collated, and we don't book appointments you don't need. The plan is made to fit work, travel and family.
You work directly with Dr Hatch over years: one doctor who knows your history, owns the plan and carries it forward.

Your doctor
Opse is built around one accountable doctor. Dr Hatch is a Fellowship-qualified GP (FRACGP) practising longevity and preventive medicine in Brisbane, with an unusual foundation for the work: a decade as an MRI and emergency radiographer, then hospital orthopaedics, before general practice. He still assists in surgery today.
That imaging background matters. A whole-body MRI can be useful in the right context, but a scan is only as good as the reading and what follows. He reviews the images himself, puts any findings in context, and stays responsible for the next step.
Behind the consult is a program built to a standard. Opse was developed over two years alongside a clinical pharmacist trained in interpreting the latest evidence, so what we recommend reflects current, critically appraised science, refined as the evidence moves.
“The value isn't in ordering more tests. It's in deciding what's worth doing, and following it through.”

How it works
A short intake form. We tell you plainly whether Opse is right for you, and where to start. Acceptance depends on suitability and appointment availability.
The core pathway starts here: a doctor-led risk map and a staged roadmap, with a clear decision to stop here or continue into QuickStart or the Accelerator.
Structured face-to-face modules, then ongoing Governance: reviews, targeted retesting and problem-solving so the plan holds over years.
Focus areas
Our preventive work concentrates on five areas of chronic-disease risk: cardiovascular, cancer, metabolic, neurodegenerative and mental health. Body composition and movement cut across all five. We hold them in a single clinical picture, because healthspan is decided across all of them at once.
Atherosclerosis and stroke risk mapped early, with screening and interpretation matched to your level of risk.
Before any screening test, you will understand its benefits, its false positives, what it can miss and the follow-up it can trigger.
Assessment of metabolic health and risk factors for insulin resistance, with further testing chosen only when clinically indicated and likely to change care.
Neurodegenerative risk weighed in context, with APOE and other targeted testing only where it informs prevention.
Validated screening with stepped care and referral, treated as core to healthspan and given equal weight in the plan.
DEXA, VO₂ max and exercise prescription: visceral fat, lean mass and bone density read as trends, then acted on.
The Accelerator program
The Accelerator runs as six face-to-face modules across a year, built for decisions, action and maintenance, in that order.
Your healthspan goals and a detailed history, and the start of a working relationship built on shared decisions.
Your biomarkers reviewed, your cardiovascular and cancer risk quantified, and screening tailored to you rather than to a panel.
Metabolic and neurodegenerative risk, with targeted testing (DEXA, CGM, OGTT, APOE) only where it changes a decision.
DEXA and body composition interpreted, then exercise prescribed around fitness (VO₂ max), strength and any pain or injury.
A nutrition plan, with supplements only where the evidence supports them. Opse does not sell products.
Emotional health screening with stepped care, skin health, and the exercise and nutrition plan consolidated for the long term.
See what each program includes and costs on the programs and fees page.
Programs & fees
Everyone starts with Baseline. Most people then choose QuickStart or the full Accelerator, depending on risk and goals, and completing the Accelerator opens year-on-year Governance. Standalone consultations (a whole-body MRI review or Menopause Optimisation) are there when they suit you better. Fees cover the medicine; diagnostics are paid directly to providers, at cost.

Diagnostics
The right tests differ enormously from person to person, so yours are chosen individually. You pay pathology, imaging and DEXA providers directly, at cost. We decide with you what is ordered and why, then interpret the results as one picture.
Evidence & safety
Screening can be useful, but it is not harmless. Some tests find important disease early. Others create false alarms, anxiety and unnecessary follow-up. The work is deciding which tests are worth doing for this person, at this point in their life, and what we will do with the result.
Recommendations are tied to the strength of the evidence, and we say so when the evidence is thin.
Articles inform decisions; they don't replace an individual consultation. Care is always personalised.
Every screening test is talked through and weighed against its downsides, so the decision is yours to make.
Clinical content is written by Dr Hatch, carries a publication date, and is updated as the evidence moves.
