Longevity medicine with a clear clinical purpose

When people search for a longevity doctor, they are often looking for more time to understand their health and a plan that looks beyond the next blood test. At Opse, longevity care means preventive medicine with a long time horizon: understanding avoidable risks and protecting the function, strength and independence that matter to you.

Your consultation may consider cardiovascular and metabolic health, cancer screening decisions, fitness, muscle and bone health, sleep, cognition, mental health or menopause. The priorities depend on your circumstances. Testing is useful when it helps answer a clinical question and informs what happens next.

The standard of care we build around you

A high standard of longevity care should be visible in how decisions are made. At Opse, that means:

  • One accountable doctor. Dr Hatch brings your history, investigations and next steps together, with continuity across the plan.
  • Clinical judgement before testing. We discuss what a test might change, what it cannot tell you and how an unexpected result would be managed.
  • Interpretation in context. Results are considered alongside your history and priorities, rather than treated as isolated targets.
  • A written direction. Your baseline provides a risk profile, priorities and a staged plan, including whether further care is appropriate.
  • Clear costs and follow-up. Program fees are published. Diagnostics are completed offsite and paid directly to providers, with follow-up determined by your care pathway.

Dr Hatch is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with a background in medical imaging and hospital orthopaedics. Read his qualifications and clinical background.

What happens at your first longevity consultation?

  1. Apply. Tell us about your goals and circumstances so we can assess fit for the model.
  2. Establish your baseline. Review your medical and family history, concerns and previous results with your doctor.
  3. Agree on priorities. Discuss screening options and a staged diagnostic roadmap, including what matters now and what can wait.
  4. Choose the next step. Leave with your risk profile and plan. The recommendation may be to stop at Baseline or consider a further program.

Opse Baseline costs $950. Diagnostics are separate. See all programs, inclusions and fees before applying.

How to choose a longevity doctor in Australia

Look for a clinician whose qualifications, assessment process and follow-up responsibilities are clear. Useful questions include: Who will interpret my results? Why is each investigation being recommended? What happens if a finding needs further assessment? What will the full pathway cost?

Ask how evidence and uncertainty are discussed. No consultation or test can guarantee a longer life. A considered care plan should explain its limitations and leave you clear about your choices.

You can check a doctor's registration through the AHPRA register of practitioners. Our medical insights also show how we discuss evidence, screening and preventive care.

Questions about longevity care

What does a longevity doctor do?

At Opse, a longevity doctor takes a long-term view of your health: reviewing your history and risks, discussing appropriate investigations, interpreting results and agreeing on a practical prevention plan. The aim is to protect health and function as you age, with follow-up that keeps the plan relevant.

Who is the doctor at Opse Health?

Dr Joshua Hatch, MBBS, FRACGP, leads care at Opse Health. He is a Fellowship-qualified GP with a background in medical imaging and hospital orthopaedics, practising longevity and preventive medicine in Brisbane.

Opse Baseline is $950. It includes a history review, basic risk stratification, a screening discussion and a staged next-steps plan. Diagnostics are not included and are paid directly to external providers. Further programs have separate fees; care is fully private.

Do I need a referral?

You can apply directly. The application helps us assess whether the care model is suitable. If accepted, you will be invited to schedule a baseline consultation and provide relevant records or previous results.
