Frequently asked questions
Applying and availability
- Why do I need to apply?
-
The application helps us assess whether Opse suits your needs and confirm appointment availability. Applying does not guarantee acceptance.
- Does applying guarantee acceptance?
-
No. Acceptance depends on fit and available capacity. If accepted, you will receive an invitation to schedule.
- How long is the wait?
-
Appointment availability varies. Contact [email protected] for current availability before making plans.
- What if I am not accepted?
-
We will tell you plainly and suggest the most appropriate next step: often your GP, a more targeted consultation, or reapplying later.
Diagnostics and screening
- Do you do blood tests and imaging?
-
We arrange a tailored diagnostic plan and refer externally. You pay providers directly. We interpret results and manage follow-up.
- Why do you not include diagnostics in the program fee?
-
The right tests vary significantly from person to person, so yours are chosen individually and paid directly to providers, at cost. The model is built for targeted, considered decisions rather than a fixed panel.
- Do you offer whole-body MRI?
-
Imaging is arranged externally when clinically indicated and paid separately. Whole-body MRI screening is not routinely recommended for people without symptoms, known cancer or a cancer-predisposition syndrome. Scans can miss disease or lead to further tests for findings that do not affect health. If you already have a scan, Dr Hatch offers a GP review of the images and radiologist's report to discuss follow-up. This does not replace a specialist radiology report or recommended screening.
- What if a scan finds something unexpected?
-
Scans can reveal incidental findings unrelated to the reason for testing. Some need further assessment; others may not need intervention. Further tests can involve costs, risks and anxiety. We discuss findings in the context of your history and the radiologist's recommendations, and agree on appropriate follow-up.
Care model
- Is this coaching?
-
No. Opse is doctor-led preventive medicine: screening decisions, interpretation, prescriptions where appropriate, referrals, documentation and escalation pathways.
- Do you use Medicare?
-
Opse is not built around Medicare. Program fees are fully private; diagnostics are arranged offsite and paid directly to providers.
Fees
- How much do Opse Health programs cost?
-
Opse Baseline $950; Couples Baseline $1,700; Opse QuickStart (2–4 months) $4,500 (+ diagnostics paid direct); Opse Accelerator (6 modules over 12 months) $14,500 (+ diagnostics paid direct); Opse Governance (Quarterly) $5,900/year (+ diagnostics paid direct); Opse Kuro (Monthly) $24,000/year (or $2,250/month) (+ imaging/diagnostics paid direct); Menopause Optimisation (3 visits) $2,400 (+ diagnostics paid direct); Whole-body MRI review (Post-scan consult) $500 (bring any provider's scan).
- Why is this priced at this level?
-
You're paying for a professional review: the considered judgement, structure and accountability you'd expect when you engage an expert to guide a decision that genuinely matters.
It has never been easier to order a whole-body MRI, a broad blood panel or a genetic test. The skilled part is deciding whether a test is worth doing in the first place, and knowing what you'd actually do if it found something. Ordered without that plan, these tests routinely surface incidental findings and false positives, and trigger cascades of further scans and procedures that carry their own risks and anxiety.
That is the work you're paying for. Clinical judgement: what actually matters, what doesn't, and what changes a decision. A clear decision before testing, weighing the potential benefit of screening against its downsides. Interpretation in context, bringing biomarkers, imaging, family history and lifestyle into one coherent risk profile. And follow-through: a structured plan with defined review points, and escalation pathways if something abnormal appears.
As with any professional advice worth paying for, the value is disciplined decision-making and long-term follow-through, not simply ordering investigations.
Ongoing care
- What is Opse Kuro?
-
Kuro provides ongoing preventive care for executives, founders and others seeking monthly doctor reviews, priority booking windows, priority triage of abnormal results and care coordination. Suitability and available capacity are assessed before enrolment. Between-visit support is defined and bounded; Kuro is not an emergency or 24/7 service.
Urgent care
- Is Opse urgent care?
-
No. If you have acute or concerning symptoms, seek urgent medical care via your GP, urgent care clinic, or emergency services.
